Turkey Trot 5K/10K

Friends of the Poor hosts a yearly Thanksgiving dinner that serves several hundred people. Proceeds from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine Turkey Trot 5K/10K benefit this important event and the organization’s other work throughout the Thanksgiving holiday season.

Registration
Online registration is open through Nov. 3 at noon. The deadline to receive a T-shirt is Oct. 6. You can opt out of the free t-shirt.
- 5K walk/run = $30
- 10K walk/run = $40
You'll also be able to register for the event on-site for an increased price.
Location
The race takes place in downtown Scranton, starting at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and makes its way down to the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail.

We encourage everyone to pick-up their race material on Nov. 4, from noon to 4 p.m. in the Geisinger Commonwealth lobby.

Results and awards
Results will be announced following the completion of the 5K/10K.
Awards will be given to the top overall male and female for both races, as well as the top three male and female in each age category below for each race:
- 0-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60+
Tiny Trot
The event will include a Tiny Trot, which will feature a fun Turkey Trot relay for kids of all ages. Additionally, there will be supplies provided for a themed craft to be completed on race day.
