Our services include two therapies, enteral nutrition therapy and total parenteral nutrition. 

Enteral nutrition therapy

Enteral nutrition therapy (ENT) is a method of providing dietary treatment for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as:

• Crohn's disease
• Ulcerative colitis

Enteral nutrition is usually taken in the form of nutrient-dense formulas that can supplement calorie intake or act as a primary source of nutrition.

Total parenteral nutrition therapy

Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is a type of nutritional care involving intravenous fluids containing fats, carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and other substances given through a centrally placed catheter. 

TPN is used for treatment of conditions like:

• Crohn's disease
• Cancer
• Short bowel syndrome
• Ischemic bowel disease

Nutritional support at home

If someone in your family needs nutritional support for oral (ENT) or tube (TPN) feeding, Geisinger home infusion services are tailored to meet the specialized needs of all patients.
