About Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital

Geisinger Jersey Shore is a full-service community hospital open 24/7 with an emergency department, critical care beds, inpatient surgical services, 25-inpatient beds, specialty services and clinics operating Monday through Friday.

Geisinger Jersey Shore has been a part of the Geisinger family since 2017. Since opening as a private hospital in the early 1900s, the hospital continued to grow through the decades to better serve the residents of western Lycoming and eastern Clinton counties.

Comprehensive care close to home

Geisinger Jersey Shore is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Hospitals and is designated as a Critical Access Hospital by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Medicare Program.

The hospital has been designated a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.

Designation as a Primary Stroke Center signifies that a hospital is providing the level of care necessary to achieve long-term successful outcomes for stroke patients, and Geisinger Jersey Shore provides this level of stroke care close to home for residents of Lycoming and Clinton counties. The hospital is also a Critical Access Hospital, a designation given to eligible rural hospitals by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to improve access to healthcare by keeping essential services in rural communities.

Geisinger Jersey Shore is a designated Level IV trauma center*. The hospital also has a helipad for transport of critically injured patients requiring higher-level medical care at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville or another hospital.
