Important contacts

Patient liaisons for questions or concerns
If you have a question or concern that you feel hasn’t been answered or addressed fully at any time, we urge you to reach out to one of our patient liaisons. This could be a question about your care or any aspect of our facilities or services.

The patient liaison will help you get to the right person or department, and will stay involved to aid in the resolution of your issue. Patient liaisons are available from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. To reach a patient liaison, call our Action Line at 570-271-8881.

If you call at a time when the patient liaison is not available, you can leave your name, phone number and a brief description of your concern. The patient liaison will contact you as soon as possible.

Voicing your thoughts about the care you or your child receives helps us improve the quality of care we provide. We value your opinions and appreciate your candidness.

Interpreter and special communications needs
We provide all of our patients and their families with qualified interpreters for languages other than English and for American Sign Language (ASL). If you have special communication needs, call 570-271-8881 for assistance or ask a member of your care team.

Child Advocacy Center of the Central Susquehanna Valley
We believe that providing immediate, high-quality care to victims of child abuse or neglect is crucial to their overall health. This is why the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of the Central Susquehanna Valley was established as a division of Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.

The CAC provides services to abused children and their families in a secure environment. Operating out of a new child-friendly facility that was designed for privacy and safety, the CAC offers forensic interviews, specialized medical exams, trauma screenings, crisis intervention counseling, advocacy services, case tracking and referrals.

The CAC’s multidisciplinary approach to care helps reduce re-victimization and increases the likelihood of offenders being prosecuted. It serves families from more than six counties across central Pennsylvania and is the only center of its kind within a 50-mile radius. All services are free of charge to victims and their families.

Contacting a patient's room
To reach a patient's room, call 570-271-6211.

Spiritual care
A number of volunteer chaplains visit interested Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital patients on a regular basis. If you would like to have a member of the clergy visit, you may contact your own place of worship, or you can request a visit by a volunteer chaplain by calling 570-271-8155. The operator will share your request with the volunteer chaplain.

A nondenominational Spiritual Care Center for private prayer and meditation is available at Geisinger Medical Center on the first floor, near the B elevators in Bush Pavilion.

Security
Tell a nurse or any member of the Geisinger team if you have a security concern. Security personnel are available 24 hours a day.
