Funding and supporting our community’s health
Community investing
Geisinger Good Neighbor unifies our community health efforts to build trust and strengthen the places where people live, learn, work and connect.
Our community investment pillars
These pillars reflect what we’ve heard from area residents, local leaders and community partners. They guide where we invest our time, resources and support.
- Care in the communities — Because care should meet people where they are.
We support mobile clinics, pop-up care sites, and partnerships that make healthcare simple, local and stress-free — especially in underserved areas. - Food first — Because access to nutritious food is essential to health.
We support programs that provide healthy meals and nutrition education — including food pantries, cooking classes and community gardens — especially those that connect food access to measurable health outcomes. - Ready for work — Because opportunity builds healthier futures.
We invest in workforce development, especially in healthcare and health insurance. We support mentorships, training programs and career pathways for high school students, job seekers and career changers. - Social resource hub — Because health depends on more than medicine.
We connect people to housing, transportation and other essential services through data-driven partnerships, referrals and community capacity-building. - Stay healthy, stay you — Because prevention and education empower people.
We back screenings, trauma education, chronic disease management and wellness programs that help people control their health and live fully.
Volunteerism — Because giving back strengthens connection.
We empower Geisinger employees and community members to serve others through volunteer efforts, skills-based service and partnerships with nonprofits. - Your mind matters — Because mental health is essential health.
We support efforts that reduce stigma, expand access to behavioral health services and promote emotional wellness across all demographics.
Submit a request
Your submission will be reviewed by the appropriate team, including Geisinger Health Plan, Geisinger College of Health Sciences and the Geisinger Health Foundation.
What we prioritize when considering requests
We prioritize requests that expand or sustain existing impactful programs — efforts that have demonstrated value and are ready to grow. While we appreciate innovation, we are less likely to fund seed money, salaries, capital projects, or deficit support.
We’re looking for initiatives that make a lasting impact. When submitting a request, consider how your program:
- Builds on existing success
- Strengthens community capacity
- Creates measurable health outcomes
- Encourages ongoing engagement
- Can be sustained beyond Geisinger’s initial support
