Current fellows

Nadia Feroz, MD

Dr. Nadia Feroz is a graduate of Jinnah Sindh Medical University and completed a residency in Family Medicine at Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. She served as the chief resident in the Department of Family Medicine in her final year of residency and was the recipient of the Best Resident Award in the Class of 2020. Dr. Feroz completed research titled “Frequency and factors leading to postpartum depression in fathers visiting a tertiary care hospital in Karachi, Pakistan” in 2019. Dr. Feroz resides in Cypress, Texas, and her hobbies include playing sports, traveling, reading, cooking and watching shows. 

Tommy Pham, MD

Dr. Tommy Duong Pham is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine in St. Michael, Barbados. Dr. Pham is completing his residency in Family Medicine at Geisinger. Dr. Pham serves as chief resident in Family Medicine and his research is focused on evaluating rates of co-prescription of naloxone with chronic opioids at Geisinger. Dr. Pham is a native of Worcester, Mass., and his hobbies include basketball, fantasy football, fantasy basketball, computer building and dogs.  

Asmita Gautam, MD

Dr. Asmita Gautam is a graduate of American University of the Caribbean, St. Maarten. Dr. Gautam is a third-year Family Medicine resident at Geisinger. Dr. Gautam’s research is focused on a blood pressure comparison study in a clinical setting at five minutes of mindfulness. Dr. Gautam is a native of Charlottesville, Va., and enjoys listening to audio books, hand-making jewelry and collecting various species of indoor plants. 

James Simons, MD (central region fellow)

Dr. James Simons is a graduate of Saba University School of Medicine in Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. Dr. Simons is a third year Family Medicine resident at the Wright Center. Dr. Simons initiated the research project “SAUI SCOUT system and its effectiveness in localizing and excising non-palpable breast lesions.” The study was published in The American Surgeon (Sage Journals) in May 2022. He has done an elective rotation with Dr. Charlie Burns, treating patients with substance use disorders in the outpatient setting. Dr. Simons is a native of Newark, N.J., and Nanaimo, Canada. His hobbies include weightlifting, fitness, travel, sports, playing the ukulele and piano, and music composition.
