I deeply believe that I had as smooth a transition as one could hope thanks to my training at Geisinger. The strength of the program is in its diversity in different expertise and interests of the attendings and locations to explore (i.e., big hospital vs small hospital vs surgery center). It gave me the opportunity to really branch out, explore new challenges and techniques, and hone my skills for all aspects of GI. I miss being relatively close to NYC, Philly, D.C. and Baltimore. It was a blast being able to explore the northeast on long weekends. I miss Geisinger.

Go to Geisinger. You will not be disappointed. I miss the restaurant on main street in downtown Danville that has the best warm pretzels. And the annual Downtown Danville Halloween parade. The small-town atmosphere with big city medicine is what makes Geisinger GI different from other programs.
