Women's heart health
Alpha Phi Women's Heart Health Study
Through Geisinger's Genomic Research Initiative, enrollment of individuals into MyCode and subsequent genome sequencing is ongoing. In order to ensure that women who are at risk for heart disease are represented in the bio-bank, this study aims to identify and recruit two research cohorts from high-risk OB and cardiology clinics: (1) Women with pregnancy complications linked to CVD risk and (2) Women with a family history of myocardial infarction (MI) before age 55. Recruiting women with pregnancy complications or a history of pregnancy complications and collecting information from them for use in future research studies is the primary purpose of this project.
