Surgeon officially joins Geisinger-Community Medical Center
SCRANTON, PA -- Timothy J. Farrell, M.D., FACS will officially join Geisinger-Community Medical Center (G-CMC) July 1st. Dr. Farrell will continue his more than 20 years of providing surgical care to the Scranton community and will remain G-CMC’s Director of Surgery.
Dr. Farrell specializes in all aspects of general surgery including appendectomies, hernia and gallbladder removals, laparoscopy, endoscopy and breast surgery. He will lead G-CMC’s team of general surgeons, whose offices and clinic space are located in the brand-new, Multispecialty Clinic located off the G-CMC main lobby.
Dr. Farrell is a 1990 graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. He completed his surgical residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, and is a board-certified surgeon.
In September, G-CMC’s new operating suite will debut. Featuring 14 expansive operating rooms, the new OR is located on the hospital tower’s second floor and is equipped with the most advanced and innovative medical technology, including a Hybrid OR that combines hi-tech operating equipment along with precise imaging capabilities - all in one surgical room.
