Geisinger earns HFMA MAP Award again for revenue cycle excellence
Geisinger has been honored all nine years of the award’s existence
DANVILLE, Pa. – Geisinger Health System is one of four integrated delivery systems, and the only one from Pennsylvania, named by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) as a 2017 winner of the MAP Award for High Performance in Revenue Cycle. Geisinger has now been honored all nine years of the award’s existence.
HFMA's MAP program recognizes health care provider groups that have excelled in meeting industry standard revenue cycle benchmarks (MAP Keys), implemented the patient-centered recommendations and best practices embodied in HFMA's Best Practices for Patient Financial Communications, and achieved outstanding patient satisfaction.
"These exceptional organizations have superior processes for communicating complex financial issues to patients in understandable ways,” said HFMA President and CEO Joseph J. Fifer.
"Everything we do at Geisinger centers around our patients, and earning the MAP Award is an important external recognition of our team’s commitment to patient-centered best practices,” said Kevin Brennan, CPA, FHFMA, Geisinger executive vice president and chief financial officer, who is chair-elect of the HFMA Board of Directors. “Effective revenue cycle management contributes tremendously to the operational performance needed to make ongoing investments in our people, facilities, and technology, and the MAP Award process keeps us focused on that goal.”
The award was presented June 25 at HFMA's annual conference in Orlando, Fla. Additional information is available at https://www.hfma.org/Content.aspx?id=54064
