Geisinger nursing program ranked 4th best in Pennsylvania

LEWISTOWN, Pa. – Geisinger Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing's nursing program has been ranked as the 4th best nursing program in Pennsylvania by RegisteredNursing.org. Only Saint Francis University, Waynesburg University and Bloomsburg University were ranked ahead of Geisinger Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing.
"We are honored to receive this great recognition. The ranking validates the excellent work of the staff and students at our School of Nursing," said Kirk Thomas, chief administrative officer, Geisinger Western Region.
Top 30 nursing schools in Pennsylvania was ranked out of the 76 RN programs in the state by analyzing current and historical NCLEX-RN (The National Council Licensure Examination) "pass rates". Programs reviewed include schools that offer an Associate in Nursing (ADN/ASN), BSN, or Direct-Entry MSN Degree.
"The Geisinger Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing gives students a solid knowledge base and exposure to the clinical area to produce competent and high-quality graduate nurses who are ready to practice in today's challenging healthcare environment," said Maryann Brown, director, Geisinger Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing.
The school accepts students all year round with classes starting in August every year. There are various scholarships and financial aid available for students who fit basic eligibility credentials.
