Geisinger becomes the first member of Risant Health

New location will co-locate primary care and ConvenientCare services

Bellefonte, Pa. – Geisinger is making better health easier for Bellefonte, Centre County and the surrounding communities by opening a new primary care site in late 2024. Geisinger Primary Care Bellefonte is under construction at 226 Buckaroo Lane.

This $15.5 million investment in the community will put primary care and ConvenientCare services in the same location. Dermatology, ultrasound, X-ray and lab services will also be located there for easy accessibility. These added services mean patients can get an X-ray or blood work during a walk-in visit for urgent care or during their scheduled primary care appointment.

“The relocation of our primary care and ConvenientCare walk-in clinics in Bellefonte is a benefit for community members looking for easy-to-access health care services closer to home,” said Michelle Holt, associate vice president for Geisinger community medicine and a lifelong resident of Centre County. “The addition of this site to our expanding network not only makes health care easier for our neighbors now, but it also includes space for more outreach services in the future.”

All primary care providers and staff from Geisinger Primary Care Bellefonte will relocate to the new site from the current 819 E. Bishop St. location. Community medicine providers include Mark Rozick, M.D., Brett Oesterling, M.D., Juyeon Kim, M.D., Laura Kopinski, M.D, Adela Germano, M.D., Kyle May, M.D., and Desiree Mingear, PA-C. ConvenientCare providers and staff from the Bellefonte location will relocate from 174 Buckaroo Lane.

Resuming services in late 2024, Geisinger ConvenientCare Bellefonte will be open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Walk-in patients will be accepted until 7:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and until 5:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. ConvenientCare clinics are the best place to go for minor health issues that can be resolved in a single visit. These include cold and flu symptoms, allergies, earaches, tick removal, sprains and minor cuts.

In addition to the new construction project in Bellefonte, Geisinger is completing a $12 million expansion project at Geisinger Healthplex State College in Port Matilda that is set for completion at the end of 2024. This development will make better health easier for patients in Centre County and beyond by allowing for growth of specialty services and increased appointment availability.
