A message from our Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer, Kim Drumgo, MBA

I am humbled and honored to serve in the role of Geisinger’s Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Officer. As a growing integrated health system, Geisinger has distinguished itself as a hospital of the community. We serve the communities we live in, and our communities continue to expand and become more diverse.

We know the best way to serve our diverse communities is by maintaining an environment where everyone is welcome — regardless of their views, perspectives or backgrounds. To do this, we have launched a comprehensive DEI strategy that fosters inclusion and equity from the inside out.

The most foundational component of our strategy is building a trusting and inclusive culture. We create the best place to work by valuing our differences through inclusion and developing each team member to reach their fullest potential. Focusing on our culture and talent will unlock our ability to innovate and identify solutions to serve our patients and members better. The more we challenge ourselves to understand each other, our patients and our members, the more we can lessen the gap of health disparities that exist in various communities.

Our continued progress requires that we hold ourselves accountable, doing our part to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace and society.
