Thomas J. Liston

Thomas J. Liston joined the Geisinger Health Board of Directors in January 2024. He is Chair of the Audit & Compliance Committee and serves as a member of the Geisinger Family Committee. He has been a member of the Geisinger Health Plan Board of Directors since October 2021 where he also chairs the Audit & Compliance Committee and serves on the Family and Governance Committees.

Mr. Liston began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1983. He became Partner in 1993. He joined Humana Inc. in December 1994 to lead Humana Ventures, where he served on numerous portfolio company boards. During his 22 years at Humana, he served in various leadership capacities including the Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer, Senior Vice President of Senior Products, and the first President of the Retail Segment, comprising Humana’s Medicare Advantage, Prescriptions Drug Plan, Medigap, Medicaid and individual health insurance businesses.                              
Post retirement in 2016, Mr. Liston’s activities include working as an advisor to the Louisville Arena Authority from 2016 to 2020 and a Board Member from 2020 to 2023. He has served on the Board of Jet Health, Inc. since 2016. He has also served as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Company and as an advisor to various healthcare focused private equity firms.

Mr. Liston received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in May 1983. He has since participated in numerous leadership programs at various institutions including Harvard Business School, The Wharton School, and The Center for Creative Leadership.

Mr. Liston resides in Prospect, KY with his wife, Jana. They have three grown children.
