Geisinger becomes the first member of Risant Health

DANVILLE, PA — Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) recently welcomed Lisa Golden, MHA, BSN, ACM as chief operating officer of GHP. In this new role, she will be responsible for management, process improvement and planning within GHP.

Over the past several years, Golden has served as chief administrative officer at Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC), playing a vital role in the growth and development of GCMC and partnering with Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anthony Aquilina and the GCMC team to elevate the level of medical care in Scranton and the surrounding area.

Golden joined Geisinger as a registered nurse in 1990. She spent 16 years at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center serving a multitude of roles such as care management coordinator, care management director and associate vice president of continuum of care/care management. In addition, for four years she served as associate vice president of program development and chief administrative officer at GCMC.

Golden received her bachelor of arts degree in nursing from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, and a master of health care administration from King’s college in Wilkes-Barre. She also holds graduate certifications in executive leadership in healthcare administration and public health administration. She received her accredited case manager certification in 2011.

Golden is a member of several organizations including the Pennsylvania Trauma Board of Directors, the Children Advocacy Center Board of Directors and the American Case Management Association. In addition, she serves as a member in Circle 200, a forum for senior-level executive women in northeastern Pennsylvania.
