DANVILLE, PA – The open enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance marketplace is here. There have been a few important changes from previous years, but what hasn’t changed is Geisinger Health Plan’s (GHP) dedication to helping Pennsylvanians find the perfect plan to fit their needs and budget.

The annual election period for 2019 begins Nov. 1 and runs through Dec. 15.

A key change from previous enrollment periods is that people no longer have to pay a tax if they don’t have an ACA compliant heath plan, but healthcare coverage is as important as ever for people to maintain their health, peace of mind and financial security.

Geisinger Marketplace plans include HMO and PPO, as well as Geisinger Extra, which is a unique plan that balances cost and coverage, in select counties. Geisinger Marketplace is also available to provide the most basic coverage for people under 30.

All plans include wellness and health management programs with personalized support and education that covers the spectrum of healthcare needs. These programs are available online, in person and by phone.

“Each person has different concerns and unique needs and healthcare reform has provided even more choices for people looking for individual coverage,” said Steven Youso, president and CEO of Geisinger Health Plan. “GHP offers a variety of high-quality, affordable plans that can meet their coverage needs. That’s why more than 70,000 Pennsylvanians choose our Marketplace plans.”

GHP has a dedicated team of trained advisors available to help consumers every step of the way this election period. To speak with a trained advisor, call 800-918-5154 or visit GeisingerMarketplace.com for more information.
