Mental health support for GHP members during COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, many of us are facing drastic changes to our normal routines. 

 

With many businesses ordered to temporarily shut down, people practicing social distancing and isolating at home and an overwhelming amount of news coverage, the COVID-19 pandemic has understandably triggered a lot of fear and concern among our communities. 

 

Due to these unprecedented and uncertain times, many people may experience mental health issues like anxiety, stress and depression. And those who already experience these issues may have a heightened experience.

Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) is committed to providing access to mental health services for our members, even in times when social distancing makes a face-to-face visit to a doctor difficult. 

 

That’s why we’re here to connect you with mental health services in your community, including doctors and healthcare providers now offering telepsychiatry appointments, which are visits held over the phone or through video chat, like FaceTime.

This service is available now, and year-round, to most GHP members. Just call 1-888-839-7972 (or find the number on the back of your insurance card) to get started.
